What is Alpha?

Alpha is for people from all backgrounds, religions, and viewpoints. You can come to investigate questions about the existence of God, the purpose of life, the afterlife, the claims of Jesus, and more. Some people want to go beyond religion and find a relationship with God that really changes lives. Others come for the close, long-lasting friendships that are built during Alpha. The group revolves around 3 parts: a shared meal, a talk (video) and small group discussions. Kids can go to Wednesday Night Live (ages 2 years–5th grade) or Pulse Jr. High (grades 6-8).

Wednesday nights at Crossroads Church starting February 12

6:45 - 8:30pm

What does Alpha look like?

  • FOOD

Whether it’s a group of friends gathered around a kitchen table, or a quick catch-up over coffee and cake, food has a way of bringing people together. It’s no different at Alpha. Most sessions start with food, because it’s a great way to build community and get to know each other.

  • TALK

The talks are designed to engage guests and inspire conversation. Usually around thirty minutes long, they may be given as a live talk or played as a video. They explore the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions such as, "Who is Jesus?" and "How can I have faith?"

  • DISCUSSION

This is probably the most important part of any Alpha: the chance to share thoughts on the topic in an honest and friendly small group environment. There’s no obligation to say anything, and there’s nothing you can’t say (seriously).
